One of Havana's oldest and most famous cigar businesses, the Real Fábrica de Tabacos Partagás was founded in 1845 by Spaniard Jaime Partagás. The world-famous habanos cigars are produced in this factory. The Real Fabrica de Tabacos Partagas is housed in a well-preserved industrial building dating from 1845. The building stands out amongst its neighbours because of the ornate colorful maroon and cream exterior. Currently there are around 500 workers on it, rolling cigars for well-known brands like Montecristo or Cohíba.
