Rainy night on Woodward

Detroit's Woodward Avenue is one of America's most iconic roads.
If Michigan history were an encyclopedia, Woodward Avenue would have a long, important entry. The roadway, sometimes referred to as Detroit's Main Street, runs 27 miles from Detroit to Pontiac.
Woodward Avenue made history when it became the first paved road. Specifically, a mile of Woodward from Six Mile Road to Seven Mile Road was converted to a concrete highway in 1909.
In 1919, Woodward Avenue was the site of another advancement in the way we travel, when it became the first place where a three-color traffic light was installed.
